Repetition Repeated = Mastery.
When we study and focus, we can learn and master ANYTHING. Including being confident and proficient at handling a firearm, OUR FIREARM. This is the perfect reason to take Femme Fatale’s Arms and Training Form & Accuracy Class.
This past weekend I did just that, and while I was milling around meeting the other participants, I heard statements like this, (from about half the attendees)….I’m actually kind of nervous, I have butterflies, my heart is pounding so fast, I am a little worried about the recoil from my gun. I can’t really remember how to load or fire my gun from last time……(that last one was actually from me! ????).
This is why FORM & ACCURACY is so vital to our gun training. It brings us back out to review, and go over again, and again what we have previously learned.
We do this while being supervised by the range instructors every step of the way. They walk the line of shooters and continue to watch each participant shoot. We only load a few bullets at a time, so they can step in and help you adjust a bit more, and a bit more, and offer tips and instruction until, HEY, I GET IT!! THIS FINALLY FEELS RIGHT. The jitters disappear, and you actually begin to aim, and SEE with your own eyes, where your bullet hole went and are then able make your own adjustments…..all by yourself!
Our excellent firearms instructors ran us through 3 targets in the span of an hour. It was good to see the progression as the session went on. Our aim improved, and so did the comfort and feel of our guns.
After taking this class it left me understanding COMPLETELY why it is a required prerequisite for the other Skill Building Classes. This class ensures that you are comfortable enough with your gun to move forward…..from here on out we will be mastering different skills, not learning how to shoot our gun. We are moving down the pipeline into the FUN ZONE.
Just to wet your whistle:
Skill Builder 1 – Improve accuracy, rapid magazine changes, and dealing with jams! (huh?? ????)
Skill Builder 2 – Develop muscle memory, drawing a firearm!! ????????….tactical shooting, etc.
Skill Builder 3 – Strong and weak hand shooting (cuz duh, what if your shooting hand gets injured!????.)…defend against multiple attackers, and so forth and thus and such.
You get the idea…. we are moving up and onward…..Form & Accuracy class is the jumping off point.
As we were wrapping up, I heard a much different story. We all left with a confidence boost, and much clearer understanding of how to handle and operate our firearm to improve our accuracy.
