Keep an eye on this one….could set precedence.
Summary: Mayor of Pittsburgh is trying to put legislation in place that would not only ban semi automatic weapons, but enable seizure without due process. Also part of this is a $1,000 fine, applied each day as a separate violation until the firearm is turned in…with 90 Day imprisonment as an alternative (with seizure of course).
This is more stringent than Pennsylvania law, thereby making it in violation of Pennsylvania state law.
He is moving forward and has written to 60 other mayors to get them to do the same. In addition, he has the backing of the Governor!
